Summary: The National Institute of Technology Durgapur also known as NIT Durgapur or NITD, is a public engineering college located in Durgapur, West Bengal, India. Formerly known as the Regional Engineering College, Durgapur (REC Durgapur), it is among the first 8 Regional Engineering Colleges established in India and was founded in 1960 by the then Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. Today it is one of the 30 National Institutes of Technology in India and has been recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India under the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007.

Courses at NITD

N.I.T Durgapur offers a full time MBA Programme course of two years for the session of 2016-2018. This programme, which has been recently subsumed under the IIM Bulletin, was meticulously designed under the supervision of professionals and experts belonging to various reputed B-Schools of Eastern India, including Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata and Corporate world.

Admission to NITD

Eligibility: Candidates, having pursued Graduation from any discipline are entitled to apply for this session if they fulfil the following conditions:

  • The candidate has to score at least 60% in both 10th and 12th
  • The candidate belonging to the following categories has to obtain the following overall final score in Graduation:
